Hello from the other side (of the playoffs)

We are in an exciting time in the CCHL, playoff time! Unfortunately this is also a sad time for many teams, including the Springfield Homers. Once again the team finds itself on the outside of the playoff season and heads home with heads hanging low and additional time to work on their golf games. Luckily for the team, the annual AAEGAA* Awards have been announced and one of the Homers made the list!
“It is always an honour to get nominated. In today’s day and age it is important to remember that everyone should get a trophy, I mean otherwise what is the point?”, said a clearly happy Ray Emery, “I think for many of the players, this is their chance to get a trophy, it does seem unfair to have players awarded trophies simply because they play well”.
The AAEGAA Awards were held in the Springfield Town Hall, Mayor Quimby was in attendance and presented the Bill Mikkelson Award to D. Severson of Halifax. Bumblebee Man presented the Tiger Williams Award to Prust of Halifax. V. Fasth of Siberia broke the sweep that looked like Halifax was going to make, by taking the Nick Ricci award.
The awards were once again a great success and players are looking forward to next year.
