Icecats Year End Review

Hello sports fans, we are here with GM Saouaf to get his thoughts about this Icecats season which recently ended at the hands of the Puffin.  "We are obviously disappointed with the way the season ended.  Given how well we did in the regular season, ending up as the #1 seed in the Canosa conference, we had higher goals for this team.  We ran into a tough and hot Puffin team that took 4 straight from us after we won the first game at home.  Hats off to the Puffin on their victory and now they are in the finals against the #1 overall seed, the Chinook."  I asked GM Saouaf if he had any plans for the offseason, to help his team take it to the next level.  "As you may expect, we will be taking some time off in the offseason to assess our team strengths and weaknesses and we will try to address them via trades and the FA market.  My preference is always to acquire young talent via trades, but the FA market can yield some good players who can help put us over the top."  When I asked him about any specific areas, GM Saouaf had this to say.  "We certainly need to address our goaltending situation for next year.  Matt Murray was solid this year, but we are not sure he can be our #1 next year.  We also need to shore up our wing position, as well as trying to acquire another stud dman.  Our prospect pool is deep and I will not be afraid to use it to better this team.  I think we are close and we need a few more pieces to put us over the top.  For now, we're going to enjoy a heck of a finals between the Puffin and the Chinook!"  Well sports fans, it certainly seems like the Icecats will continue to be active this offseason, as they look to put themselves in a position to secure their first ever Kehler Cup.  What tricks does GM Saouaf have up his sleeve? Only time will tell. That's it for now sports fans!
