The New Loon Weighs In on Joining the CCHL...

Being from Massachusetts, every year the summer months have filled the sights and sounds of baseball. Whether it is the MLB Red Sox on tv, sitting on the grass watching the cape cod league or taking in a high school game. But the other half of the year belongs to hockey, and Massachusetts is a hockey hotbed.

A few years ago I was lucky to have the opportunity to acquire a franchise in the brl, I moved the Pirates to Chicopee, MA and it has been a great success with many promising years ahead of us.

The success of the Pirates’ franchise has allowed me to be in the position to acquire the Ottawa Barracudas of the CCHL and bring them to Massachusetts.

Since acquiring the franchise we have gone through some growing pains like most new ownership groups do, but we have learned from them and are confident that we are on the path towards success. Hopefully, our fans will understand that winning doesn’t come immediately, that a rebuild is a process.

Our first priority is bringing in players that our fans can root for. We have to bring our payroll down and restock our farm system. This won’t be easy or quick but we have been working hard and I believe we will be a Kehler cup champion in the near future!
