The Sudbury Miners are quickly becoming no fans in overtime.

For the second game in a row, the Miners came out on the wrong end of the extra period and lost 3-2 to the visiting Dartmouth Lakers on Friday night.   The Miners have now lost two in a row, after running off a season-high 6 game unbeaten streak.

Lakers forward Derek Stepan, scored 1:52 into the extra frame, as his low shot beat goaltender Ben Bishop, giving them the win.  Cam Talbot had to make 43 saves on the night for the win.  Ryan Spooner and Zach Parise had the other goals for the Lakers, who have won two of their last three games.

Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist to pace the Miners attack.  Benoit Pouliot had the other goal, his 2nd of the year.  Ben Bishop took the loss, replacing Jake Allen who suffered a hand injury mid-way through the third period.  Allen is not expected to miss any significant playing time with the injury.

"It's good to get a win," Stepan said. "Right now it doesn't matter how we do it, as long as we do it."
Sudbury is back on action on Saturday night at home versus the Sanibel Islanders.  Game time is 7pm at the Vale Centre.  The game will be a rare, live broadcast in the U.K. on BBC2, in addition to being streamed live on the BBC website.

MINERS NUGGETS
