Calgary Chinook doubled up the Portland Owls 4-2

PORTLAND Pietrangelo had a goal and added two assists as the Chinook beat the Owls 4-2.

Howard again started the game for the Chinooks, Carey Price who hasn't played since the loss to the Barracudas served as the backup. Howard stopped 14 shots and did his part when the Chinook looked sloppy and sluggish in the second. Alex Pietrangelo played arguably his best game this season with a goal and two assists, and Sidney Crosby cemented the win with his 13th goal of the season. It wasn't the Chinook' best, but they were able to start a new winning streak.

"We came on stronger as the game went on." Chinook goaltender Howard said. "That's why we won. They came out with a huge push late in the first and huge push in the second and then it was huge for us to get two goals in the third.

The Chinook had a 2-0 lead in the first period but the Owls’ Lucic and Marleau scored to tie the game at two.

The Chinook were spending too much time in their zone and not moving pucks until the ladder stages of the game.

"We started out strong but as the game went on, but we were too worried on protecting the lead. The momentum shifted in the second period and we found ourselves in trouble.” Said Coach Eugene Yip. "I think we were all a little tired from yesterday’s game but we manage to get another two points tonight."

NOTES:
Chinook haven’t score on the power play the last two games.
