Crosby scores game winner, Chinook rebound for 3-2 win over Lakers

CALGARY – Sidney Crosby scored twice as the Calgary Chinook stopped a two-game losing streak by defeating the Dartmouth Lakers 3-2 on Tuesday night.

''If we want to win the Cup, we have to know how to rebound from a loss,'' Crosby said.
Crosby scored the game-winner at 2:54 of the third period.

It was a back and forth outing.  Crosby opened the scoring at 3:26 of the first period then Nash tied the game at 13:18 for the Lakers.  Granlund scored at 10:09 of the second period, a minute later Kruger tied it at two.  Crosby scored early in the third period and eventually hang on to win the game.

''It's a good experience for us because we bounced back from a losing streak,'' said Johnny Gaudreau, who only scored once in 19 games.

''The Lakers are a hard-working bunch and they are not going to let you have an easy game,'' Calgary coach Eugene Yip said. ''We took a while to engage into it, and once we did, we were fine. It's a good learning lesson.''

Howard made 12 saves as the Calgary Chinook held on late to beat the Lakers, who wasn’t as bad as the standings show.  “They are a talented team with Parise and Hall in front.  Talbot has been playing lights out for them.  If Talbot played every game, they are pretty much a playoff team. “
