REPORT: Elliott requests trade from Musicmen (BREAKING)

Multiple media sources have confirmed that Musicman goalie Brian Elliott has instructed his agent to request a trade to Dayton general manager, Bill Corfield.

Word leaked that Elliott's agent, retired netminder Michel Dion, was camped out at the Musicmen headquarters in Dayton when the staff arrived to open the office fr the day.

"It was pretty weird. This kind of goofy looking man with a briefcase was waiting for us when we showed up to work this morning," said one office worked who refused to be identified.

"He said he needed to talk to Mr. Corfield right away. We told him Bill wasn't in the office yet and he demanded to wait. He wasn't rude at all - he even bought Starbucks for all of us. He was wearing this black and gold headband, which you don't see anymore. It definitely clashed with his business suit, that's for sure," said the worker.

According to multiple sources, Mr. Corfield arrived shortly before 10:00am and ushered the man into his office. They were in the office for roughly 30 minutes before Dion was seen leaving the Musicman offices.

Dion spoke to the press outside the building.

"Brian has hired me to represent him as his career clearly has found a new level. Our reasoning is very simple. Bill Corfield has traded everyone else on the roster of consequence, now it's Brian turn to be sent to another team that is competing for the Kehler Cup this season." said Dion.

"Dayton does not need a 32 year-old goalie right now. Jeremy Smith handled himself very well when Brian was out a few weeks ago. There are plenty of other journeymen netminders around the league that would cover the crease for Dayton, probably at a lower cost, as well." Dion continued.

When a member of the assembled media asked why should anyone think Elliott's recent hot streak would continue, given his numbers, Dion responded, "Anyone who knows APBA hockey knows that there are certain players and certain years where they seem to consistently perform above a level they're expected to. Brian has compiled some solid numbers playing in front of the worst defense in the entire CCHL. Imagine what his numbers could look like if he was playing behind a better defense! The sim likes him, clearly - the numbers don not lie - His talents are being wasted in Dayton and all he wants is a shot - somewhere else - to win this year."

Attempts to contact Elliott were unsuccessful this morning as he was on the ice with the rest of the team preparing for a game with Seattle tomorrow night.

Corfield was asked by the media as he left for lunch about Elliott's demand to be moved and said, "I talked with his agent this morning. Mr. Dion and I had a amicable discussion and I understand what he would like to see happen. I appreciate Brian's efforts here and in the playoffs last season. As always, I continuously explore many trade ideas to see if a good fit exists for both clubs involved."

"I've talked to a few teams about him since last night and another I expect to talk with later today. Our asking price is a suitable young asset and a goalie who has decent games played availability to see us through the end of the season. If someone offers us a package that we find attractive, we'll move him. If no one does, he'll be here. Period."
