Calgary Chinook Season Opener Preview!!!


Calgary Chinook Season Opener Preview:

The Calgary Chinook undergoes big changes in the off season by acquiring arguably the best hockey player in the last decades Sidney Crosby and several other key pieces Panarin, Pavelski and Weber in hopes of getting their first Kehler Cup in franchise history. GM Eugene Yip realize that their cup window is closing in a year or two and have to do something to take advantage of the strong group they already have.

Despite the strong rosters this season, the financial pressure of the team is going to be huge. “The goal of this season is to win the cup, after this season we will discuss it within our organization to find the best way to balance out the financial aspect of things. “said Yip.

Crosby will be the captain this season and Giordano and Weber will serve as alternate captain.

Starting lineup for tonight season opener:

Gaudreau – Crosby – Pastrnak
Panarin – O’Reilly – Pavelski
Niederreiter – Nielsen – Silfverberg
Granlund – Vermette – Ferland

Giordano – Pietrangelo

Coach Yip has moved Gaudreau up to first line in hope of sparking the offense for Pastrnak. “Gaudreau is such a creative winger, along with Crosby, I am sure Pastrnak will be challenging for the goal scorer title this season.”

The Calgary Chinook start off with a 4 game homestead and will have their Home opener tonight against the Seattle Reign. “We can’t take the Reign lightly.” Said Yip. “They have a lot of young players that want to prove themselves, they will be charging at us right at the start of the game. “
