Chinook cruise to 7-1 win over Orrsmen

CALGARY – Five unanswered goals in the third period let the Chinook rolled to one of their most lopsided wins of the season.

Niederreiter scored the first of a five-goal flurry in the third period and Price stopped 20 shots as the Avalanche routed the struggling Parry Sound Orrsmen 8-1 on Monday night.

Suter, Pastrnak, Crosby, O’Reilly and Panarin also got into the scoring act as well for the Avalanche, who have extended the home winning to five games.

Price is 3-0-0 in his three contests with a 1.21 goals-against average.  Price nearly had his first shutout of the season, only to have Eichel spoil it with a goal early in the third.

Calgary scored five times in a span of 13 minutes and 20 seconds through the third period. The result might be largely due to GM Yip reunite the line of Crosby, Panarin and Pavelski.  “Those three guys have made a good impact on our hockey team so far.  They just clicked right away.  “Said Yip.  “Crosby played one of his best game so far this season (who had 2 goals and 1 assist) and Panarin also had a great night with 2 goals.”

The Power play unit consists of O’Reilly, Pastrnak and Gaudreau scored both of the power play goals.

"I'm getting more comfortable out there and I'm starting to enjoy being in the locker room," Panarin said. "They are awesome in here."

NOTES:
Crosby and O’Reilly combined for 40 wins out of 49 Face offs which is 81% win in the Face off circle
Chinook 5-0-1 is the best start in franchise history
