Chinook goes back to the winning column with 5-2 win against the Reign

CALGARY – After a 2-1 loss against the Owls in the previous game, GM/Coach Eugene Yip started juggling the line hopes to spark some offence and apparently it’s working. Carey Price stopped 29 shots, Jakob Silfverberg had two goals and Calgary beat Seattle 5-2 Friday.

All four lines scored even-strength goals in this game.  Crosby is paired up with Niederreiter and Pastrnak, O’Reilly with Panarin and Silfverberg, Backlund with Gaudreau and Pavelski, all three lines were having ice time evenly.  “I think this works quite well. “Said Eugene.  “All three of these lines can score and pose threat to the opponents.  I thought it was a great response to last game to bounce back like that."

Despite outshooting the Reign 40-31, This is a game that Price has shown a lot of poise, making key saves at the right time. “

"Yeah, it's good to have a game that I get to work constantly," Price said. "Anytime there's a disappointing game, I always like to get back in there right away, just so you can forget about it. It was good."

Alex Pietrangelo collides awkwardly with Calle Jarnkrok at the start of the game, forcing both to leave the game early in the first period.  After evaluation, Pietrangelo is to be out day to day with a lower-body injury.  Expect Alex to miss 2-3 games.

NOTES:
Despite having 15 minutes of ice-time, Vermette had 8 PIM in this game.
Gaudreau scored for the first time in 11 games.  He had 8 assists during the span.
Giordano only has 1 point in the last 11 games.

UP NEXT:
The Calgary Chinook will visit their rival the Fort Erie Falcons for a possible early preview of a Corfield Conference final matchup on Sunday.  “It won’t be a walk in the park, that’s for sure.” Said Captain Crosby.  “They (Falcons) has constantly improved their team (Adding former Chinook Jason Pominville, Palat, Marc Staal and Grubauer.  We have to give 120%, especially at their home. “
