Fans In Halifax Excited About Recent Trade

Hammerhead fans should be very excited about this latest trade.

After a successful 10 game segment in which Halifax went 4-3-3, with 6 of those games on the road. GM Rob Williams pulled the trigger on a trade with Dartmouth for big right winger Jakub Voracek. Beat report Billy Lee asked, "why if it was a successful start to the season would you trade your 1st round pick, 4th round pick and Nick Bonino"?

Billy asks a great question.

Jakub brings experience, size and skill that my scouts and management team felt we were lacking. Jakub will line up on the right wing and play alongside Matthews and Huberdeau. We have 2 days of practice before we play host to Parry Sound, that's 2 days for that trio to get to know each other and I expect great things from them.

Voracek at 6'2" and 214 lbs. Huberdeau at 6,1" 188 and Matthews at 6"3" 216 makes for a very tough line for size and skill for most teams to match up against. This trade also allows us to get Tierney back in the line-up ( by adding  Bonino to the trade ). As for Connor Brown, he'll move to the 3rd line to play alongside Eller and Kulemin. Connor will also see some powerplay time. GM Williams was asked if he has decided on a number one goalie yet and his reply was " not yet but we'll ride Kinkaid as long as he stays hot. Williams acknowledges the fact that they needed to get Marc-Andre Fleury back between the pipes soon and has promised Fleury a start during this 3 game homestand.

That all for now unless there's a trade you'll hear from me after game 20.
