Are the Fort Erie Falcons….afraid?

It is said that they have the date circled on their calendars and this day is the stuff of nightmares for young Fort Erie fans…..the Isotopes are coming to town on Day 73!

It has been reported before but ugly GM Matt Young (Fort Erie) and kind of ok looking GM Aaron Stacey (Springfield) have been friends since they were twelve and over that time have developed a friendly rivalry.  The last couple years, however, have not been kind to the Isotopes when playing Fort Erie as there has been a constant losing feeling in the city but recently this has changed as the Isotopes are finding themselves in the thick of the Canaso conference playoff race and recently added Malkin to the lineup.  Not to be outdone, the Falcons recently added Hearst, Ontario born Claude Giroux.

Day 73 promises to be a good matchup and maybe a few surprises, unfortunately, it was announced that as expected neither Stacey or Young will be allowed to take the ice with their teams due to archaic CCHL rules limiting participants to actual NHL players.  Luckily the annual exhibition game took place and was another humdinger of a game with supreme leader Stacey netting 7 goals in a 19-1 Isotopes win.  Many will point to Young’s poor goaltending as the cause of this lopsided game but now that both GM’s will be watching from “luxury” boxes in The Fortress we will get to see what the teams do on their own.

Springfield put together a promotional video for the game found here:  https://youtu.be/7jj5RUaQfXw

It is expected that the Isotopes will go all out to try to win this game for their GM…..will the Falcons be able to do that when they are shaking in their boots?

Incidentally, the Isotopes play the Seattle Reign on day 72….a game before the Falcons tilt, there have been rumors of movement between these two teams for some time, will there be new bodies in place to help take down the Falcons?
