MILLERS KICK DAYTON'S ASS!!! 10-1

Four friends from the Dayton suburb of Kettering made the drive down Interstate 75 South today to see their beloved Musicmen take on the Georgetown Millers in a rematch of last year's CCHL Finals.

Well, they sure got their money's worth...

After the first twenty minutes, the quartet was excited that the game was not only tied but also still scoreless.

"I'd heard that the Millers had skipped the usual morning meeting and strategy session they normally have, " said "Jim."  He continued, "I think we have a real chance to sneak out of here with a win tonight,"

"Dave" offered up that Jim should've just stayed quiet - that it was a matter of time until the Millers showed the Champs who's boss.

"Jim gets a little carried away, everybody knows Dayton is a mess and I just bet him a beer that the game's not tied anymore in another twenty minutes," said Dave.

Dave was right, Jim was wrong.

To allow a team to scores seven goals on you in one period, a lot of things have to go wrong for you or very, very right for the other team.

Regardless, losing 7-0 after the second period and then with a final score of 10-1, the Musicmen continued their long, long winless streak.

The four friends left the arena and headed back to the parking lot to head back to Dayton. Jim said, "God, this is a terrible team. I bet Mike Smith wished he was back in Calgary, lol..."

Notes:

*Dayton returns to play on Tuesday evening when they take on the Hamilton Tigers.

*Matt Irwin and Mark Stuart both had three shot blocks and Micheal Del Zotto had two in the game. Irwin moved back into a tie for first place in blocks in the CCHL with Ian Cole of Halifax. Both men have 42 blocks, but Irwin has his in seven fewer games.

*When asked for a comment on his second game in Dayton, Smith said, "Uh, yeah... Looked at the stat sheets from the last two games. Against the Puffin last night and the Millers this evening, we've been outshot 110-34. We've gotten beat on faceoffs 76-53. We've been outscored the last two games 13-3. I'd heard stories about how bad it was for Dayton and I'm finding the talk was spot on. Yes, I want to play but this is bullshit. I already talked to the Coach and GM - they're going to try and work something out. I know they brought in Laurent Brossoit, but he's only got 5 games left he can legally play in. Jesus..."
