Chinook and Millers game ends in stalemate with a 4-4 tie

CALGARY Ferland scored on a powerful slap shot at 8:28 of the third period tying Wednesday night's game against Millers at 4-4, a score that would hold until the final horn of overtime. The goal was scored just 7 seconds after Millers defensemen Martin scored the go-ahead goal which seems to be the game winner.

There was no scoring in the first period, both teams were clogging the neutral zone trying to wait for the right chances to break out. In the second period, the floodgates opened, Pastrnak scored his 19th of the season and Millers Nash and Faksa made it 2-1 at the end of the second period.

The Chinook, trailing 2-1 entering the third, out-shot Millers 41 to 28 through the final period to come-from-behind and tie the game three times in the last period. In addition to Chinook's late goals, Pavelski and Crosby also scored in the third period. Jimmy Howard made 30 saves in net to extend the unbeaten streak to 4-0-1.

In overtime, Millers was on fire and dominate the OT with a 6-0 edge in shots on goal, but neither team gave up the game-winner.
“We got tested tonight, that's for sure. We did a good job keeping our focus and working through it as opposed to working against it. Said captain Crosby. We're going to have to be better. We were sloppy in some areas. We have to make sure we're ready to go.

NOTES:
