Dayton trades prospect Jordan Greenway to Minnesota for Tanner Laczynski and two goalies...

A trade has been made!

DAY trades Jordan Greenway-p to MIN for Tanner Laczynski-p, Kasmir Kaskisou-p & Matiss Kivlenieks-p...

Jordan Greenway is a 3rd year left winger for Boston University. An alternate captain this season, he belongs to the Minnesota Wild after they drafted him 50th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Currently ranked third in scoring on the Terriers, Dobber Hockey rates him as the 81st best forward prospect in hockey.

Center Tanner Laczynski, drafted by the Flyers in the 2016 draft with the 169th pick, is tied for the team league in points for Ohio State. A member of the 2016 World Junior championship team, as a power forward is difficult to control and sometimes sees two defenders trying to contain him. Dobber does not have Laczynski included in its top 200 forward prospects. Look for that to change in the coming months, as he sits 5th overall in the Big Ten scoring race.

Netminder Kasmir Kaskisuo, a free agent signed by the Maple Leafs is currently playing for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL. Already 24, time is a factor in his bid to reach the NHL. Hoping to build upon some success he's already had in North America. Rated 25th among goalie prospects.

Netminder Matiss Kivlinieks, another free agent, signed by the Blue Jackets has already climbed to third overall on the Columbus goalie depth chart, according to the Hockey News. The 21-year-old is playing for the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League.

Comment:

"We really liked Greenway, but with his slow start at Boston University combined with the starts that our other left-wing prospects like Christian Fischer, Max Jones, Andy Mangiapenne, Jonah Gadjovich and Warren Foegle, we felt like we could attain some balance in our prospect system. We've been looking for a few high upside centers, and Tanner is someone we've had our eye on for awhile. The two goalies give us some depth and we feel both have a shot at moving up to the NHL and CCHL someday." Bill Corfield, General Manager, Dayton Musicmen
