Johnny Hockey Scores Twice!

LAS VEGAS – Johnny Hockey scored twice in the first period to set the tone as Calgary scored six times on their way to a 6-2 rout of the Las Vegas Aces on Friday.
Silfverberg, Crosby also scored in the first period to build 4-0 lead by the first intermission, before Pavelski and Backlund joined the scoring party in the second period. Aces goalie Anderson made 29 saves on 35 shots on goal.
Haula and Marchessault had goals for the Penguins. They were coming off a 5-4 win over the Portland Owls yesterday. The win is the first win for the Chinook after losing two in a row from the Minnesota Norsemen and the Siberia Icecats.
Chinook head coach Eugene Yip had made some shuffles to the line uniting Crosby and Pavelski with Gaudreau and it appears to work wonder. Chinook star Johnny Gaudreau had 2 goals and 2 assists to finish off the game. “It’s great to see them (Crosby, Pavelski and Gaudreau) to have some chemistry. “Said Eugene Yip. “After two disappointing lost, it’s time to change things up so the opponent isn’t expecting the same line over and over again. “
The awakening of Gaudreau, has been a welcomed spark for the Chinook. Gaudreau wasn’t producing playing on the 2nd line with Barkov and Pastrnak.
Also another welcome change having Howard as the starter, letting Carey Price to rest a little bit.

NOTES:
Crosby Gaudreau and Pavelski line was a +4 for the night.

UP NEXT:
Chinook play again tomorrow against the Springfield Isotopes, who just acquired all-star Malkin from Rejkjavik Puffin.
