New Captain Severson and other players bribe pilot on way to Hamilton...


The first tweet went out at 4:00pm, Dayton time...

BULLETIN: The charter plane carrying the Dayton Musicmen is reported to be missing en route to Hamilton, Ontario for their game tonight vs. Tigers. US air national guard now searching for transponder signals. Updates to follow...

Followed by this one...


BULLETIN: CNN and TSN in Canada now reporting the pilot assigned to fly the team to Hamilton located in a bar near the Soundstage Arena back in Dayton. FBI interviewing him at this time. Still no word on whereabouts of plane or players, coaches, etc.

Followed by this one... 
Media reports now saying that the pilot, name unknown, was seen speaking in hushed but excited tones with Dayton Captain Damon Severson, goalie Mike Smith and Jason Pominville by the loading dock at NW entrance to Dayton Int'l Airport around 11:30am this morning.

Not fake news - this apparently happened.
Witnesses allegedly describe a manila envelope being handed to pilot by Severson. This has not been confirmed, repeat has not been confirmed yet.

Just kept getting stranger and stranger...
Details are leaking out of Dayton Ohio that an alternate Flight Plan was filed by the replacement pilot. It appears the team and plane did not go to Ottawa as originally planned.

What the hell got into Severson and the rest of the guys?
FBI now says that replacement pilot filed a flight plan for Yellow Knife. Canadian Air Force has scrambled 2 fights out of Kingston and another from the North from Bagotville. No word yet if plane has been hijacked. FBI says, "We'll intercept the charter very soon."

Internet sources say original pilot saying the players told him "there's no fricken way we're going to Hamilton tonight. You saw what the Millers did to us the other night."

The whereabouts of General Manager Bill Corfield have not been revealed during this entire drama.
And now the handcuffs part....
ALERT: Plane carrying Dayton Musicmen hockey has landed at Hamilton International Airport. Team deplanes, w/Severson, Smith, Pominville and GM Corfield in handcuffs being led to a separate destination that rest of team. Joint US/Canadian officials to hold press conference shortly
Hamilton announces that the game is still on for tonight...
The Hamilton Tigers announce that tonight's game with Dayton will be played at its scheduled time of 8:15pm tonight.
Canadiens weigh in...
Statement from Canadian authorities... "Earlier today, apparently 3 players from the Dayton Musicmen bribed the original pilot for their flight to Hamilton 4 tonight's game against the Tigers to accept an envelope of cash if he allowed another man 2 fly the team to Hamilton."
