Dayton Recap, Games from last week....

A recap of the Musicmen's last four games:

Sunday, November 5th, 2017

Georgetown - 4 at Dayton - 1

...Newcomer Jonas Gustavsson stopped 30/34 Georgetown shots on goal, for Dayton. Mike Hoffman scored twice for the Millers. Scott Upshall scored the only goal of the game for Dayton.

Quote: "You can't give a team like the Millers six powerplays. Sure we killed five of them, but it threw us off our game. We're a fragile team, very young and by the end of the second period, they were killing us in shots 23 - 13. We needed to play them a lot tighter than we did." said Dayton GM Bill Corfield

Hamilton 6, at Dayton - 3

...Jared Coreau stopped 59 of 65 shots from the Tigers tonight. After falling behind 3-0 by the end of the first period, somehow Dayton battled back to tie it up as the game headed into the 3rd period. Jared McCann and Francoise Beauchemin each had two points in the game. Hamilton won the third period, 3-0 which also gave them the game, 6-3.

Dayton 0, at Victoria 4

Not sure why GM Canosa decided this was the game to break out rookie netminder Jusse Saros and his team-best .923 save percentage. Especially against a team like Dayton this season. RNH scored twice for the Ronin and Namestinkov and Rask each added two points of their own as VIC skated to an easy 4-0 blanking of Dayton.

Quote: "Well, Jusse used to be a Musicmen, he was in our system before we sent him to VIC," said Thomas Vanek.

Dayton 1, Sudbury 3

The Musicmen keep finding new ways to lose. Usually, if you hold another team to just fourteen shots the entire game, you're gonna win most of those games. But not this one. Jared Coreau stopped 11 of those 14 shots and Dayton went down in defeat again, 3-1, this time to the Sudbury Miners.

Quote: "You do realize Dayton hasn't won since they beat NIA back on day 40. They're up to 27 days and counting without a win. They've got Sanibel, then Siberia and then Minnesota comes to town. They lose those three games, that'll mean they haven't won in 30 days. That's a whole month!" said a hockey writer from the Sudbury Times...
