Chinook are just too much for the Miners, win 4-1.


Although Chinook goaltender Carey Price didn't face a lot of shots, he came up big when he needed to.

Price stopped 19 shots for his of 23rd the season, leading the Calgary Chinook over the Sudbury Miners 4-1 on Sunday night.

"When you get that kind of support like I got tonight, clearing in front of me and getting to rebounds, it's easy to play in goal," said the veteran goalie.  "You just try to be solid and be there. They didn't have much and the guys played a really smart game tonight."
Mikael Backland, Ryan O’Reilly, Nino Neiderreiter and Artemi Panarin scored for the Chinook, who got there second win versus Sudbury in the span of a week.
“We put pressure when we needed to, we stepped back when we had to," Price said. "They have some really skilled players, players that can shoot the puck, too, and you have to respect that."
Ben Bishop finished with 19 saves for the Miners, who have are now winless in their past six contests.
"Not one of our best," Miners forward Philip Danault said.   "We couldn't really find a groove and didn't find a way to sustain the pressure we knew that we could create. ... We didn't have an answer for what they threw at us."
Winger Radim Vrbata had the lone goal for the Miners in the loss.

MINERS NUGGETS

- Coach Derek Sutton confirmed that D Darnell Nurse will be out 4 weeks with his latest injury.  Expect D Shea Theodore to see more minutes until Nurse returns.
- Winger Radim Vrbata has now extended his point streak to a season-high six (6) games.
- The Miners return to action on Monday night, as they host the Seattle Reign at the Vale Centre.  Game time is 7:00pm.
