Sidney Runs Wild!!!

Crosby’ three points night tamed Puffins 4-1

CALGARY –  Sidney Crosby had a three-point night, scoring twice in the first period and assisting on Pastrnak's power-play goal in the second, to power the Chinook to a 4-1 win in the first of two meetings with the Rejkjavik Puffin this season.

Kris Letang found the net with 6:07 to play to round out the scoring, while Jimmy Howard was excellent in goal, stopping 22 of 23 shots in the victory.

The Chinook is now on a four games winning streak and with an overall record of 32-5-2.

Crosby opened the scoring with a beautiful power-play goal at 9:33 in the first period. Taking the puck to the front of the net after getting a sweet feed from newcomer Thomas Vanek, Number 87 lifted a quick shot up under the bar from four feet out to give the Chinook a 1-0 lead.

Crosby then made it 2-0 at 15:39 in the first.  On a 2-on-1 with Pavelski.  Crosby took the puck down the right side and made a quick head fake before pulling the puck to his forehand and firing a sizzler short side on Puffin goalie Holtby.

Crosby now has 30 goals and 66 points in 39 games this season.

Mikko Koivu has the lone goal for the Puffins.

“Kudos to our D limiting Puffins shots in the second and third period especially when they have an elite sniper like Kucherov and Tarasenko.  “Said, Eugene Yip.

NOTES:

Vanek again had the most shots with 5.

Despite having 3 points, Crosby was dismal at the faceoff circle with 7 wins out of 20.
