Hamilton Tigers Update by George Weston

AP Hamilton:

George Weston with your Tigers update.

Well, GM Taylor solved his goalie controversy in dramatic fashion with the departure of both of his feuding goaltenders and the arrival of Devan Dubnyk.  "I just couldn't listen to the whining anymore. Between them and Thornton complaining about playing time I had to make a change."  Dubnyk is a workhorse and is expected to play almost every remaining game for the Tigers. With Andrei Vasilevski dominating the GLHL's goaltending stats Taylor's boys should be fine in case of injury.

Coach John Cooper will soon be faced with a tough decision. Max Domi has done a great job since coming up from the GLHL's Jarvis Corn Kings and into the Tigers starting lineup but the little bull Connor Sheary has been cleared for contact and will be back in the lineup soon.  The question is who goes down? After the departure of Grandpa Joe Kevin Hayes has been playing on the 4th line and doing a good job of it as well.  What would be best for Domi's development playing 22 minutes per night in Jarvis or 6 on the 4th line in the Hammer?  The smart money is on Domi heading back down to be reunited with the Corn Kings outstanding group of youngsters Jake Virtanen, Alex Iafallo, Jake DeBrusk, Josh Ho-Sang, Noah Juulsen, Josh Jacobs, Matt Dumba & Andrei Vasilevski that has carried them to first place in the Young Conference.

(Editor's Note: We are pleased to see Mr. Weston writing again!)
