Falcons Rebound with W in Kentucky...

The Fort Erie Falcons were not happy with their play on Friday night, and it showed in their game against the Georgetown Millers on Saturday evening.

While the game was in Georgetown, Fort Erie came out hungry as James van Riemsdyk staked the road team to an early 1-0 lead on his 16th of the season just 48 seconds into the contest.

Despite outshooting the Millers 15-8 in the first frame, the Falcons went to the dressing room tied after one period after Andrew Cogliano equaled the score with just under eight minutes to play in the period.

The goal seemed to spark the Millers as Mike Fisher scored a pair of goals in the first ten minutes of the second period to put the Millers up by two goals.

It wasn't to be for the home team though, as Max Pacioretty converted a beautiful feed from Tyler Seguin to cut the deficit to one before Alex Burrows tied the score at three before the buzzer sounded to end the second stanza.

In the third period Fort Erie came out buzzing once again, and Sam Reinhart re-directed a Sean Monahan shot to put the visitors up 4-3 just 5:57 into the period.

The game would stay that way and Fort Erie left Kentucky with the two points on the night.

"It was a solid bounce-back game by the boys," said Captain Blake Wheeler following the game.

"We wanted to play our way and get a lot of shots.  We weren't happy with our game against the Puffin and we needed a strong effort tonight to show everyone we can hang with the best in this league" added Wheeler.

Fort Erie are back in action on Sunday evening as they travel an hour up the QEW to take on the Canosa Conference-leading Hamilton Tigers.
